The Hilton Kuala Lumpur is proud to be instrumental in bringing back the return of British dinner theatre to Kuala Lumpur. Hilton made its homecoming to Kuala Lumpur very recently after an absence of three years. As such, we felt it was appropriate that we bring another old friend back with us to celebrate the occasion.

Dinner theatre will return to the city via British Theatre Playhouse with its production of “Funny Money”, a delightful comedy which will be staged exclusively at the Grand Ballroom of the Hilton Kuala Lumpur for three nights only. Malaysian producer Cecilia Leong-Faulkner met her co-producer and husband John in Kuala Lumpur seventeen years ago when he was acting in a play here. “Funny Money” is a result of their long-standing dream to bring a production back to Cecilia's hometown, making this a very special homecoming for them too.

Playing a part in supporting the culture and arts scene in Kuala Lumpur has always been an integral part of Hilton Kuala Lumpur's make-up, just as providing a consistent, hassle-free service with a quality product is our mission. We are delighted that you are able to join us this special evening, and look forward to many more to come.

We are delighted you could join us this evening to welcome the British Theatre Playhouse to Malaysia with their premiere production of “Funny Money”.

Citigroup has a long-standing association with Culture, Arts and Humanities. From ballet and dance to music and theatre groups, our involvement is broad, and seeks to promote these fields in communities in over 100 countries in which we operate. Tonight is specially dedicated to you – our valued clients, business partners and friends. It is our way of saying “thank you” for the trust you place in us, and for our on-going relationship.

“Funny Money” is a comedy production revolving around Henry, who accidentally picks up a wrong briefcase containing three quarters of a million pounds in used notes, which leads to a frantic game of cat and mouse full of hilarious innuendo and a bizarre succession of assumed identities.

We hope you have an amusing and entertaining evening.

The relationship between Cartier and art is one of a love story. Since the creation of the little rue Montorgueil jewellery workshop in Paris by Louis Cartier in 1847, Cartier has grown around a unique vision of art, creativity and design; no wonder French author Jean Cocteau made the legendary pronouncement that “there is art in Cartier”.

The last few decades have seen Cartier renew its romance with art. Starting in 1973, antique Cartier pieces were repurchased and progressively integrated into the Art de Cartier Collection. In 1984, the Cartier Foundation for Contemporary Art (Fondation Cartier pour l'art contemporain) in Paris was established to support the growth of contemporary art and foster its influence in the world. In 2001, the magazine Cartier Art was launched.

With this in mind, it's always natural for us to be involved with the best artistic creations, among which theatre: magic instants extended to an eternity. Tonight, Cartier is proud and honoured to present the Royal Command Performance and is delighted that the Sultan of Selangor, DYMM Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah has agreed to honour us with his presence for the 3rd and final night of “Funny Money” brought to you by highly acclaimed producers of British Theatre Playhouse here in Kuala Lumpur.

To all our guests, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you, for your continuous and loyal support of Cartier for it is you we thank for making Cartier unique and prestigious.

On that note, it is with great honour that Cartier presents to you a night of good food, great company and to top it all off, laughter that will tickle you to tears.

Thank you.
