H.E. Nikesh Mehta OBE
Dear Friends,
Imagine an evening where world-class musical theatre meets the power to change a child’s life.
We are delighted to invite you and your organisation to an enchanting Art for Charity Gala, London’s West End Rising Stars – East Meets West in Musical Theatre, presented by British Theatre Playhouse (BTP) on Saturday, 24th October 2026, at the Capitol Theatre, Singapore.
For the fourth time, BTP is honoured to support The Business Times Budding Artists Fund (BTBAF), managed by TRCL (The Rice Company Ltd). The evening will be graced by the Acting British High Commissioner, Ms Lucy Hughes, alongside distinguished guests from Singapore’s arts, business, and philanthropic communities.
The Experience
Guests will be welcomed with a champagne reception, followed by a refined four-course gala dinner with free-flow drinks. The highlight of the evening is a world-premiere concert performance featuring exceptional rising stars from Asia and the United Kingdom—artists who have appeared in acclaimed West End productions such as MJ The Musical, Thriller, Miss Saigon, The King and I, and The Sound of Music. This original production celebrates Asian representation on the West End and will tour Southeast Asia following its London premiere, making this a truly exclusive first-look performance.
Why Your Support Matters
We live in an era where AI can answer any question. Knowledge has never been more accessible. But empathy, creativity, and resilience cannot be downloaded. They can only be experienced. Right now, there are children in Singapore who will never step into a dance studio or perform on a stage — not because they lack talent, but because their families cannot afford the cost.
Since 2005, BT BAF has been changing that, reaching over 25,000 underserved children and youth through the arts. In a world rushing towards AI, the remedy is not more technology but giving every child the chance to create something real, something felt and something deeply human. 25% of gross proceeds go to BT BAF’s Art of Play @ Schools 2026 programme — providing these children with the opportunity to learn, create, and be seen. You are not merely funding a programme. You are opening a door that should never have been closed.
