Cecilia Leong-Faulkner is the Marketing and PR mind who left a four-year stint as Corporate Director of Marketing Communication for the luxury Banyan Tree Resorts & Spas based in Singapore to start her own marketing and PR consulting vehicle
in 1998.

As an independent, she found time to clinch international clientele like Six Senses Hotels, Resorts & Spas (the uber exclusive Soneva Fushi and Soneva Gili in the Maldives belonging to the group), the award-winning Begawan Giri Estate in Bali, Scavia (Italian jewellery brand with a cult following around the world), The Audley Group (a luxury hotel group that includes The Dorchester in London, The Beverly Hills Hotel in LA and Nusa Dua Beach Hotel in Bali), The Association of Business Executives, UK (a professional and examining body based in Wimbledon, UK whose President is the world-renowned author and management guru, Dr Edward de Bono and Cecilia is Honorary Fellow of the Association); while freelancing occasionally as a writer for magazines and taking care of her 11-year-old-son, James.

Cecilia has worked in cross-cultural environment and started her career in the hospitality industry and has worked for American Express International in Malaysia as an Executive in the Financial Services Institution Division (which handles Gold Card & Travellers Cheques products) and Wembley Stadium PLC in the UK, where she was the Marketing Manager in Wembley Merchandising Division.

Glamour and the arts are something that Cecilia is used to. Cecilia is a fan of British theatre and first met her stage actor and producer husband, John at a dinner-theatre in Kuala Lumpur when he was working in a stage production Bedroom Farce by Alan Ayckbourn. Cecilia has worked with the Singapore Tourism Board to help organise fashion events and worked with international fashion houses and fashion designers such as Lawrence Steele, Neil Barrett and Dsquared from Milan. She was in Paris to work on a fashion project and got invited to Yohji Yamamoto’s party for his first book where she hobnobbed with Yohji himself, Azzedine Aaia and Donna Karan.

Cecilia, being more marketing and PR-minded takes care of advertising & promotion, sponsorships and event marketing while John is artistic and creative, handles the production, behind-the-scenes stuff and supports Cecilia’s work
where possible.
