"Out Of Order"
All British Theatre Playhouse productions feature prominent actors from London's West End. "Out of Order" will be directed by David Warwick (an in-demand British director, stage and television actor known for his recurring role in the BBC television sitcom, The Fall and Rise of Reginald Perrin, and for his theatre work, most notably with the writer and director Ray Cooney), set designed by Katy Tuxford ( a distinguished British art director and production designer for TV, film and theatre) and produced by John Faulkner and Cecilia Leong-Faulkner from Singapore.
Some of the Britain’s most successful stage and television stars come to Singapore and the region in April 2012 to star in one of the most successful of British farces - “Out of Order” by Ray Cooney.
Robin Kermode (as “Richard Willey MP”)
Robin trained at the Central School of Speech and Drama.
London theatre includes Leontes in THE WINTER’S TALE (Time Out Critics Choice Award), Sir Edward Ramsey in THE KING AND I, Algernon in THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST and Trevor in FUNNY PECULIAR. Repertory theatre includes seasons at Oxford, Salisbury, Southampton, Watford, Windsor, Dundee, Farnham and the Orange Tree, Richmond. He has toured extensively in the UK and in the Middle and Far East. His favourite parts include Norman in THE NORMAN CONQUESTS, Charles in BLITHE SPIRIT, Jack Manningham in GASLIGHT, Freddie in NOISES OFF and Marlowe in SHE STOOPS TO CONQUER.
On television, he is well known for comedy with series of NEVER THE TWAIN, FFIZZ, FRENCH FIELDS, MEN BEHAVING BADLY and BIRDS OF A FEATHER. Other television includes Sgt. Robin has recorded plays for BBC Radio 4 and regularly narrates TV documentaries (including 26 episodes of ANIMAL SOS for ITV). He is a well-known ‘voice’ on commercials and annually is MC for the ATP WORLD TOUR FINALS at London’s 02 Arena. He has written a novel, THE FLOWERPOT MAN, and is also one of Europe’s top Communication Trainers.

Nick Wilton (as “George Pigden”)
Nick is delighted to be back working with The British Theatre Playhouse, having previously appeared in Funny Money and A Bedfull of Foreigners.
After reading Drama & English at Kent University, Nick made his professional acting debut in the 1980 revival of the Whitehall farce Simple Spymen, directed by Brian Rix, and later went on to play opposite Brian in the West End revival of Dry Rot. In 1982 he won the Perrier award at Edinburgh with the revue group, WRITERS INC. He then spent three years on BBC One's Carrott's Lib, which won a Bafta for Best Live Entertainment programme, and picked up two Sony awards for best radio comedy with Son of Cliché and In One Ear, which both ran for three series on BBC Radio 4.
In The West End Nick was in the farces Dry Rot and Cash on Delivery, and the revue shows News Revue and The Sloane Ranger Revue.
Other stage appearances include: national tours of Oklahoma!, Outside Edge, Run For Your Wife, The Railway Children, Brief Encounter, and as Samuel Pepys; a Middle & Far East tour of Bedroom Farce; and Out of Order and It Runs In The Family with Ray Cooney on P&O’s 2007 and 2008 World Cruises; he has spent Christmas for the last twelve years playing Pantomime Dame at theatres all round the UK.
On Television Nick was in (and wrote for) the Children’s TV shows Playaway, No.73 and Fast Forward, and appeared on Jackanory several times, including reading his own story for their 25th Birthday celebrations (other writing credits include Not The Nine O'clock News, Three Of A Kind, Spitting Image, Smith & Jones, and Smack The Pony).
Other TV appearances include episodes of Casualty, Doctors, Heartbeat, The Bill, and most recently with International Chef, Gordon Ramsay in a TV advert, which has become a huge internet hit. Nick is currently in EastEnders, playing Mr Lister, the Market Inspector.
Next spring he can be seen in the film of Ray Cooney’s classic farce, Run For Your Wife.

Jolana Lee (as “Jane Worthington”)
Jolana received a scholarship from the Mount view Academy of Theatre in London and became a Bachelor of Arts in 2003. During this time she was busy presenting UWA Rampage Wrestling and performing as a singer for Polydor records.
Since graduating, Jolana has appeared in the musical Jack Dagger asMolly, various short films and commercials and developed her natural talent for comedy. Jolana's passion and comedic flair led her to sketch show MCN TV which she also co-produced, BBC improvisation-based comedy show Life's Little Challenges, MTV's Flashprank and several successful stage productions in Europe for Vienna's English Theatre, playing Leanne in Wild Weekend, Sapphire Stone in Virtual Heroes and the role she reprises in 2012, Jane Worthington in the favourite Out of Order.
Jolana has also shone in children's television with Basil Brush, School Of Silence (as Britney Biscuit), the BAFTA winning Relic – Guardians of the Museum (as Pandora) and BAFTA winning Trapped Ever After (as Splitends), all for the BBC. Inbetween TV work she has spent time touring the UK 'doing' Porridge with Shaun Williamson and is thrilled to find herself joining the cast of the British Theatre Playhouse production of Out of Order in South-East Asia.
Sasha Waddell (as “Pamela Willey”)
Sasha trained at Drama Studio London.
Last summer, she appeared as Alice in Penelope Skinner’s “The Village Bike” at the Royal Court Theatre, which won the George Devine Award as well as the Evening Standard Award for most promising new playwright.
She will be seen later this year as the redoubtable Lady Glorvina in Tom Stoppard’s 5-part adaptation of “Parade’s End” for the BBC, a First World War drama starring Benedict Cumberbatch, Rupert Everett and Rebecca Hall.
Other film and television work includes “A Touch of Cloth” by Charlie Brooker; “Holby City”; “Julian Fellowes Investigates: The Case of the Earl of Erroll”; “Krakatoa”; “A Lump in My Throat”; “The People’s Princess”; and the feature film “Ealing Comedy”.
She is delighted to be appearing with British Theatre Playhouse as Pamela Willey, a role she first played in 2009 with Vienna’s English Theatre. In Vienna she has also appeared as Jane Banbury in Noel Coward’s “Fallen Angels”, Lady Driver in “Donkeys’ Years” and Stephanie Abrahams in “Duet For One”. Other theatre includes “Eight Women” at Southwark Playhouse; the 58th year of “The Mousetrap” at the St. Martin’s theatre; “Lady Windermere’s Fan” at Chichester Festival Theatre; “Twelfth Night” and “The Winter’s Tale” for Creation Theatre Company; “The Young Idea” at Chester Gateway; “Dear Brutus” at the King’s Head; and a UK tour of “Twelfth Night” with the Royal Shakespeare Company.
Sasha is also on the Development Board of Interact Reading Service, an award-winning charity which uses actors in the rehabilitation of stroke patients.
David Streames (as A Body)
David trained at The Guildhall School of Speech and Drama.
David appeared most recently in the Ray Cooney farce Funny Money at the Vienna English Theatre playing the part of Bill. It was directed by our very own David Warwick whom David is very happy to be working with again on this production of Out of Order. Prior to this David toured in the acclaimed production of the American play Burn This – in the lead role of “Pale”, originally played by John Malkovitch. David went onto win a “best actor” award for this part. With the same company, he played “Edward” in the equally successful production of Someone Who’ll Watch Over Me written by Frank McGuinness.
A few months previously David was lucky enough to be invited to take part in the 25th anniversary production of Les Miserables at the O2 arena in London.
Prior to this, he completed a four month run in London’s West End at the Apollo Theatre in Rain Man directed by Terry Johnson and starring the Hollywood heartthrob Josh Hartnett.
Other theatre credits include: The Leading role of “Bill Snibson” in Me and My Girl (Adelphi Theatre, West End). He also recreated the role of Bill in Cork, Dublin and Zimbabwe.
He played “Thenardier” in Les Miserables (Palace Theatre, West End), “Trevor” in Dusty The Musical (No.1 UK Tour) directed by Bob Thompson, “Joey” in The Relationship (London’s Riverside Studios), “Mr Beaver” in The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe directed by Ian Brown (RSC production West Yorkshire Playhouse Leeds), “Ben Silverman” in The Sunshine Boys (Palace Theatre, Westcliff), “Malcolm” in Little Malcolm & His Struggle against the Eunuchs (Boulevard Theatre, West End and also for BBC Radio 3), and “Dennis” in One for the Road (Oldham Coliseum).

David played the role of “Harvey” in the 1981 Oscar winning film Chariots of Fire. He also appeared in The Burden (BBC1 Films) and the lead role of “Tom” in Driven.
Radio plays include: Little Malcolm and His Struggle Against the Eunuchs (BBC Radio Three), New Routes (BBC Radio 4). David also read some lovely poetry for Women’s Hour (BBC Radio 4).
Paddy Navin (as “Gladys”)
Paddy trained at Redroofs Theatre School and has performed leading roles in many top repertory theatres in England and also the West End and the National Theatre.

Musicals: Chrissie in ‘Hair’, ‘Day by Day’ in Godspell, Janet in ‘Rocky Horror Show’, Fraulein Kost in ‘Cabaret’, Cissie Mapes in ‘Lost Empires’, Molly Brazen in ‘The Beggar’s Opera’, Lula in ‘Burlesque’ and various roles in the Award winning Alan Acykbourn’s ‘Incidental Music’. Mrs. Plumstead and Dora in ‘The Villain’s Opera’. She also created the role of Trina in ‘March of the Falsettos’ in the West End in the multi award winning show from Broadway.

Edward Grace (as “Ronnie”)
Ed trained at Central School of Speech and Drama.
He has just finished playing the role of 'John' in Bear Trap Theatre's UK tour of their award winning production Bound. Other UK stage credits include Tall Poppies, That Dark Place, Safety and A Hole in the Fence with Box Of Tricks theatre, Angela Unbound with Second Skin theatre, No Gypsy Child of Mine at the Hampstead Theatre, Closer at the ADC Theatre, and the role of 'Christopher Wren' in The Mousetrap, the world's longest running play.
Screen credits include Credence Like and The Academy; Ed has also popped up in various commercials and provided the voices for educational animations. He is thrilled to be reprising the role of 'Ronnie' in Out of Order for the British Theatre Playhouse, having previously played the role at Vienna's English Theatre.
Ray Cooney
Playwright
Although better known as a comedy playwright – his London and international hits include RUN FOR YOUR WIFE!, FUNNY MONEY!, IT RUNS IN THE FAMILY, OUT OF ORDER, TWO INTO ONE, TOM, DICK & HARRY, CHASE ME COMRADE, ONE FOR THE POT (with Tony Hilton), NOT NOW DARLING (with John Chapman), MY GIDDY AUNT(with John Chapman), MOVE OVER MRS MARKHAM (with John Chapman), and WIFE BEGINS AT FORTY (with Arne Sultan and Earl Barret) and CAUGHT IN THE NET– Ray has been acting since he left school at 14!
Ray has also found time to direct more than twenty London and international stage productions, produce thirty West End plays and musicals and, in 1983, create Britain’s ‘THEATRE OF COMEDY’. In the Spring of 2004, Ray directed the West Coast Premiere of his play CAUGHT IN THE NET at the International City Theatre, Long Beach in California, as well as playing the part of DAD. He also directed the West Coast premier of his musical TWICE IN A LIFETIME (formerly TWICE UPON A TIME) in the spring of 2008.
Ray’s latest play, TOM, DICK & HARRY (co-written with his son, Michael) had a very successful try-out at the Theatre Royal, Windsor in the Autumn of 2003 and opened at the Duke of York’s Theatre, London in August 2005. His musical TWICE IN A LIFETIME with music by Chris Walker and Keith Strachan has already had two try-out productions. One at the Yvonne Arnaud theatre, Guildford and another at the Redondo Beach Performing Arts Centre, California in the spring of 2008.
Ray has been married to his artist wife, Linda for over 40 years, and they have two sons; Danny lives in Australia with his wife, Astrid and the grandchildren, Jessie and Ashlea – Ray and Linda visit each Christmas to see them. Their other son, Michael, is a successful playwright and Hollywood screenwriter. Ray and Linda visit Michael, his wife Danielle and grandchildren Spencer and Oliver as often as work allows. Ray thinks that working with Michael on TOM, DICK & HARRY has been the highlight of his career.
In his amazing career Ray has written twenty stage comedies, which have been performed all over the world and translated into forty different languages. His RUN FOR YOUR WIFE! ran for over eight years in London, and Ray himself appeared in the New York production. David Warick
Director
Out Of Order will be David’s fourth production for British Theatre Playhouse, following his successful productions of How The Other Half Loves (2004) Funny Money (2005) and the award-nominated Private Lives (2006).
His connection with the play goes back to 1990, when he played The Body in the initial try-out at the Thorndike Theatre, Leatherhead, and subsequently in London’s West End, when the play transferred to the Shaftesbury Theatre, under the aegis of the Theatre of Comedy company,. He has since directed the play 5 times, including the UK, USA (Miami & New Jersey) and Vienna.
After training at RADA, he spent several seasons in repertory theatre: at Crewe, Coventry, Leatherhead, Guildford, Liverpool, Edinburgh, Hornchurch and Birmingham. His many West End appearances include Confrontation at the Roundhouse, Baggage at the Vaudeville Theatre, and five farces for Ray Cooney: as well as Out Of Order, they include Italian Straw Hat, (Shaftesbury Theatre), It Runs in the Family and Funny Money (Playhouse Theatre) and Tom Dick & Harry (Duke of York’s).
His many television appearances include Z Cars, Ripping Yarns, The Glittering Prizes, Second City Firsts, Shelley, The Prince of Denmark, The Fall & Rise of Reginald Perrin, Yes Minister, The Two of Us, Dear John, Only Fools and Horses, London’s Burning, On The Up, In Sickness & In Health, The Bill, East Enders, Peak Practice, Reach for the Moon and All About Me. Dr Who fans tell him that he’s one of only a relatively few number of actors to have appeared in both the classic 70s series (with Tom Baker) and the new one (with David Tennant).
As a director David has over 70 productions to his credit, both in the UK (for the Webber-Douglas Academy, the Guildford Conservatoire, Jill Freud’s Southwold summer theatre, and the commercial & touring sector) and overseas (the Coconut Grove Playhouse in Miami, the Papermill Playhouse in New Jersey, P&O Cruises, the English Theatre Vienna, and of course here in Singapore/KL).
Most recently as an actor, David appeared in The Mousetrap at the St Martin’s Theatre (the world’s longest-running play) and two national tours of Dad’s Army (playing Sgt Wilson). As director, he produced last Christmas’s festive offering: A Bedfull of Foreigners for the Mill Theatre at Sonning, and a summer production of Funny Money in Vienna. However the credits of which he feels most proud are his children Hannah & Jack.
